Group CPO, Optima Health

BIO

I’m an experienced CPO with over 30 years in global HR leadership roles across tech, software, and healthcare. I am currently Group CPO at Optima Health PLC, having previously been CPO at Astorg-backed Open Health and prior to this at Unit4, where I played a pivotal role in transforming the business over eight years, culminating in a successful $2.1bn sale to TA Associates in 2021.

At Unit4, I led and scaled a global people function of 75, overseeing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including talent, L&D, reward, business partnering, ESG, workspaces, and COVID response. I also drove material cost optimisation and worked with the Executive team on M&A integration, carve-outs and readiness for sale, regularly presenting to the board and representing the people agenda at the highest level. Post-Unit4, I became CPO at Open Health under Astorg, where I held full responsibility for equity planning and ran the people strategy through rapid transformation, including multiple M&A deals and restructuring. This role expanded into COO territory, covering GRC, leadership development, and operating model redesign. I’ve worked across every major global market, including the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and led carve-outs and integrations across a diverse set of deals.

I previously sat on the Software Advisory Board at Livingbridge, to support their technology portfolio through evolving their People and Talent strategy along with HR coaching. I now run a HR consultancy business, offering fractional CPO support to PE firms and their portfolio companies.

I support PepTalks Members with:

  • Exit readiness and investor engagement, advising on people-led value creation, board prep, and due diligence.
  • M&A and carve-outs, supporting integration, org design, and leadership alignment during complex transactions.
  • Commercial HR leadership, driving cost optimisation, scaling, and strategic HR in PE-backed environments.
