I am Sam Porteous, NED of Resi, the UK’s biggest online renovation company, backed by Omers, Project A and JamJar; Untangle Grief, a startup company helping people to deal with loss; and a Trustee for the Jon Egging Trust, a charity that helps disadvantaged teenagers. Alongside these, I am an Executive Coach and Mentor.
I spent nine years at National Accident Helpline, a marketing services company for the legal sector, joining as CFO and ultimately becoming CEO, taking over from the founder. During my tenure, we took this marketing services business through two rounds of private equity investment, with LDC and Inflexion, before exiting via an AIM listed IPO, at which time I became Non-Exec for a year.
Since leaving, I have transitioned to a portfolio of roles including Chair of a digital marketing company, Atom42, which we successfully sold to Iris, part of the Cheil Group.
I enjoy sharing my experiences of: building, leading and selling businesses with PepTalks members.
