I’m a Director at PSG in London, working within the European Operations Team to support the office of the CFO across our portfolio companies. PSG is a growth equity firm that partners with middle-market software and technology-enabled services companies to help them navigate transformational growth, capitalize on strategic opportunities and build strong teams.
My role is to work with Portfolio Company CFOs to execute on organic and inorganic growth strategies. This includes building high quality foundations through the right Systems Technology stack to support end-to-end processes providing credible reporting, financial and operational visibility to facilitate quick and effective decisions whilst always being exit ready. Furthermore, this becomes a base to accelerate the use of AI to further increase process efficiency and quality of output.
Before PSG, I spent four years as Group Finance Director at Ascend Learning, a Providence Equity-backed educational technology group with a significant presence in North America and Europe. I held a CFO-level, board remit for the European group’s fitness and wellness division, with additional FP&A responsibility across the wider global division. I led the European business through a digital transformation and its integration into a US-focused operating model. The business was acquired by Blackstone and CPPIB from Providence Equity in 2017, and I stayed on afterwards to lead the integration of European operations onto the US platform.
Prior to that, I was CFO at énergie Fitness, a fast-growing, multi-site owned and franchise fitness business. My remit was to build a professionalised, investment-ready finance function from scratch supporting an entrepreneurial founder-CEO through a period of rapid growth. The business pursued a public listing, which I led through to a full fundraising and diligence process before the board ultimately chose to remain private and continue growing independently.
Earlier in my career, I was Group Acquisitions Manager and then Finance Director at Servoca Plc, a publicly listed outsourcing and recruitment business, where I led group acquisitions and contributed to shaping group strategy across a centralised finance function serving 17 operating companies.
I trained and qualified as a chartered accountant, starting in audit before moving into transaction services and restructuring services in London.
