David Smith has served as the Economics Editor of The Sunday Times since 1989. During the conference, he will delve into the current state of the economy and offer insights into his political predictions. Ruth is CEO of Preventx who offer innovative healthtech that makes remote testing accessible to all. Ruth was a clinical nurse proudly delivering patient care as a cancer nurse specialist. Wanting to have a wider impact on healthcare, Ruth became Group Commercial Director at Healthcare at Home and subsequently Director of Speciality at Celesio UK.
Richard Madden has been the CEO of DC Advisory UK since 2009. DC is an international investment bank with a substantial focus on UK PE. Leveraging his extensive 30-year experience, Richard will provide an overview of the PE deals market for the upcoming year helping our CEO guests understand the implications it could have for their businesses.
Greg was previously the CEO of GL Education, the leading provider of benchmarking, formative and diagnostic assessments to UK and international schools and school groups. He joined the business in 2013 and took the business through a digital transformation whilst diversifying geographically to earn nearly half of its revenues outside the UK. In 2016 he successfully led a SBO to Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, and then sold the business to Renaissance Learning in 2023.
Jon is a private equity value enhancement expert who spent 13
years with two private equity houses: LDC, where he built the value enhancement
team before becoming COO, and then Inflexion, where he developed their
portfolio reporting and value creation approaches. Jon will be sharing his
advice on how to reset expectations with investors and deliver growth through
tough market conditions.
Paul is currently CEO at Achilles, a tech enabled provider of supply chain risk management, backed by BridgePoint. Paul has worked with many leading private equity companies such as Moneybox (Apax), Retail Decisions (Palamon), Global Navigation Solutions (Phoenix) and developed businesses that have been sold to trade or floated on public markets. He will be sharing his expertise on building strategic planning and operating processes.
As one of the first female pilots on her frontline Tornado GR4 squadron, flying multi-million pound fast jets for the Royal Air Force, Mandy worked in a constantly challenging, yet exhilarating environment. She offers a unique insight into this elite world, supported by anecdotes about her time on the front line.
Richard Potter is the CEO and Co-Founder of Peak, a game changing AI platform which optimises inventories, pricing and customer personalization for businesses of all sizes. Peak’s AI platform is used by global industry leaders including Nike, Molson Coors, Pepsico and Sika. Richard will be discussing the ever changing landscape of AI and the likely effect it will have on your business.

Alice will be facilitating the PepTalks 2023 Conference. She has worked in the field of Consultancy for twenty years and has a real passion for generating interesting and relevant content for audiences whether they be direct clients or intermediary communities. She is an accomplished event host and facilitator. Alice prides herself in preparation, building relationships and understanding audiences. She also specialises in workshop design and delivery. Topics include teamwork, coaching, feedback, presentation skills and leadership.
